Beginner Spanish apps

I am not going to lie, I don't use iPad a lot and while I use my iPhone, I tend to always run of our storage so I am constantly deleting apps. However, as you know, I believe that technology is moderation can be beneficial. Today, even schools use them AT school while learning. It was not until my daughter started Kindergarten that she really started using an iPad. However, since we did not have one at home, it took us a while to realize that her lack of exposure was slowing down her progress at school. We were then forced to use it more at home to catch up. That was Kindergarten!

But I digress, now I look for 'good' apps for my kids to use. They are SO many, but here is a review of a few for beginners (mainly iPhone) - I don't think the age matters as the concepts are basic and honestly, 'adult' language apps can be pretty stark and boring. These are all FREE, at least to start. Btw, I don't know that I would solely focus on one. I think they have different strengths to consider.

1. Duolingo - probably the most complete one of the apps I have found. You have the opportunity to listen, identify, write and translate. It is broken out in various themes. It also places you in the beginning to deliver as 'custom' practice as possible. There are few ads. I have used this one to study French as well.

2. Fun Spanish: Language learning games for kids - You are immediately greeted with basic themes to choose: Animals, Colors, etc, and within those there are different types of games that you can play to practice. It is Spanish to you will hear it in the pronunciation.

3. Spanish Baby Flash Cards: Toddler Flashcards -

Flashcard style app with themes to select. You then see a variety of images with the written work in English and Spanish.

Because the words are pronounced, you are able to practice speaking and word association. Probably some good vocabulary builder.

4. Endless Spanish - This is definitely the most colorful app focusing on common words. Once you select your choice "Spanish Immersion" or "Spanish with English Translation" you

can drag and drop letters to form words, and sentences.

5. Quick and Easy Spanish Lessons - Good to practice pronunciation of letters, and build vocabulary in a very basic approach.
